Update - we are moving to a new computer system with effect from 16th November - this means that between October and up until that date there will be fewer routine appointments available this is due to the fact that we are being limited to the opening of appointments moving forward. Manage your healthcare provision online.

In order to enhance our service to you we are changing our online Services. We are introducing a new service called Vision Online Service. Until you have registered for this new service you can continue to use the existing service.

This will let you interact with our practice using the Internet at your convenience, to order repeat medication, book and cancel appointments, even when we are closed.

Please note you need to contact the surgery if looking to book coil and smear appointments as we have separate procedures for this.

If you are interested in this service, please complete the application form (either format) and hand it to the receptionist, together with your photo ID (driving licence or passport) to register you.

You will then will be given information that will enable you to create your username and password.

If you already order repeat medication via our website you will need to register for the above this new service replaces the existing service although you can continue to use the old service until 31st December 2014.

 Triage

Like many other practices we operate a Triage system for urgent appointments. When you request an urgent appointment your details will be taken and our triage doctor will call you back. She will ask questions to identify what your needs are and how best these could be managed.

This may result in advice, a routine appointment, require you to be seen by the nurse or other healthcare professional, or an urgent appointment with a doctor on that day. This system enables us to give the most appropriate care as quickly as possible.

Patients are seen by appointment only. Appointments can be made by telephoning 01242 215015, (Please note: the appointment line is closed between 12pm and 2pm).

Routine appointments are usually made with the doctor of your choice, however it may be necessary to see another doctor if your problem is urgent. Appointments are 10 minutes long. If you have more than a few problems, or a complicated one, it may be necessary to make a further appointment. Appointments are for 1 person only.

If you are unable to keep your appointment please contact the surgery so that it can be reused.  This ensures we can give the best service.

Allocated GP

All patients have an allocated GP - The allocated named GP will have overall responsibility for the care and support that our surgery provides to you. This does not prevent you from seeing any GP in the practice as you currently do. 

You do not need to take any further action. You can request the name of your allocated GP when you next visit us. If you wish to change the named doctor allocated to you and have a genuine concern that this doctor will not be best placed to undertake the responsibilities assigned; then you can ask to be reallocated to another doctor.

Extended Hours

For patients who through work commitments find attending our normal opening hours difficult, we have added some appointments before and after the working day. These are currently on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Click on the Opening Hours tab above to see the times available, and then contact reception to book.

Please Note: these appointments are pre-booked only, and "walk ins" will NOT be seen.

As the early morning slots are before the site is fully open, you will need to make your way to our back door and press the bell. Access the site via the gate next to Skellians, then immediately turn right, and the door is under the fire escape. Ring the bell and the GP will let you in.

Female patients 

During extended opening we have no chaperone facility. If you think that your visit may require an intimate examination then please do not book an extended hours appointment.
