NHS England has been alerted to a recent incident where a patient was contacted by someone claiming to work at Bradford on Avon Health Centre in Wiltshire. The caller stated that the patient’s prescription was ready for collection and could be delivered if debit / credit card payment details were provided. The patient was further advised that he needed to pay an additional cost following a change that had been made to the prescription.

Ordering repeat prescriptions
We announce that from 1st August 2012 it will no longer be possible to order your repeat prescriptions over the telephone. Most practices do not accept telephone requests due to potential errors and we have been advised by the British Medical Association and Medical Protection Society that it is not safe to continue this. They can be ordered on line at this web site, at local pharmacies, in person or by post. We apologise for the inconvenience
