Surgery clinics

We offer a range of clinics and services at the surgery. There are some tasks you can do, such as health reviews, using our online forms.

Smoking cessation

We provide a smoking cessation service. Please contact reception to make an appointment.

Minor operations surgery

We carry out minor procedures in our operating suite. This is lead by Luis and you will need to have had a consultation either with Luis or one of the GPs prior.

Diabetes

Appointments will be sent to patients when they are due to be seen. Patients who feel they should attend one of these clinics but have not received an appointment, should contact the surgery.

Contraception

Dr Brand, Dr Wing and Dr McIntosh provides a coil and implant service.

There is a successful screening programme in operation for the prevention of cervical cancer. Please make an appointment if you would like a cervical screening.

Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm – Triple A screening

We routinely invite all men in their 65th year who are registered with our surgery to attend a screening.

Men over 65 who have not been previously screened can self-refer for a screening appointment by contacting the hospital screening department at the hospital on 0300 422 4285.

Self referrals are particularly welcomed from men who smoke, have high blood pressure or have a brother, sister or parent who has or has had, an abdominal aortic aneurysm.

Heart disease and health

Heart disease prevention, health promotion, and diet advice consultations are held by the practice nurse for patients who feel they would benefit from these services.

Travel risk assessment

If you’re planning to travel outside the UK, you may need to be vaccinated against some of the serious diseases found in other parts of the world. The type of travel vaccinations you need depends on which country you’re visiting and what you’re doing.

Our nurses can provide comprehensive travel health advice and arrange for appropriate immunisations. Vaccines need time to take effect, and some may require a course over several weeks. Therefore, please complete a travel questionnaire at least 6 to 8 weeks before you’re due to travel.
